How to prepare for PMP Certification

HERE ARE THE TOP TEN KEY THINGS TO SUCCESS IN THE PMI EXAM.
1. Direct questions are just for knowledge purpose are good, but depending on them will not help at all for clearing the exam. Because they are not as per the PMI standard level exams. Most of the questions in the exam are real time related example like thing.

2. See the blue print and keep target of confident that you can get atleast 80% marks. Without target its difficult to get the confidence yourself before going to the exam.

3. Rita Mulachy's book and practice question are 100% standards of with PMI. I recommend everybody to read this It halped me 60% for my success. But do practice these to make sure that you get 100% confidence for the final exam.

4. Practice the mathematical formulas based on the Cost control, CV, PV, EV, SPI , CPI, BAC and the relations between them (Definately you will get solid answarable questions around 7 to 10 on this.
Also you will always have some questions on communication channels of the formula n X (n-1)/2. The key thing in the question will be what is the value of N ?

5. Each chapter wise there will be a blue print how many questions will come, so make sure that the small topics read and understand 100% to make sure that you get good score in it. Basically Initiation, Closing process groups I am talking about.

6. Make sure that you know and keep in mind the following key points before answering on Professional Responsibility. These questions seems to be easy but difficult to answer.
a) Always don't start or reject the projects if there is less paid to LADIES in any country (this is international law)
b) Get always permission before coping any content, otherwise you are not authorized to copy anything even there is not writted anywhere on the document.
c) Paying official basically for police is always okay for city entry , visa expenses etc things.
d) If you are a member of a bidding, if any of your relation participating then let this know to everybody in advance if required quit from the process.
e) If any PMI violations then inform to the PMI otherwise treat it as civial court action so we need to inform the courts or police.

7. The very key point is Read all the process vertically means what are all comes in what order in Each process group. But DON'T READ HORIZONTALLY, that means don't read each chapter wise what are all the processes comes. If you folow this TRICK you can answer around 5 questions easily otherwise it will be difficult to to find the answer to the question and you will get confused. MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THIS 100%. Once again I am telling just remember all the processes in the order they come in each process group. But not in each chapter wise.

8. Read Head First PMp Book. Use this books just for the mathematical practice. They are very good.

9. For the exam in general 4 hours is exact right time for me, but many says that 3 hours is required, I agree this if people are good in answering faster they can do it I too hope its possible. So You just do atleast FIVE practice papers with 200 QUESTONS before going to the exam and do know yourself how much time you needs and then plan yourself how to make sure that you attempt all 200 questions in satisfied manner. Generally I am not very fast in answering the questions, I take maximum time to think before answering and take time to clearly understand. So, what I followed is taht I have decided not to answer any question that is VERY BIG IN TOTAL WORDS, I have decied to mark them all even they are easy to answer I don't want to waste time in the beginning by reading bigh questions. Even if there are 10% questions which are big one to read I can save atleast (10% of 200 = 20) and each question atleast 3 min for me so total 1 hour I can save just on this. If I follow this I am able to complete the remaining 180 small question in 3 hours easily. Then finally answering just 20 in One hour ( complete mental relief) is not a big deal if you are in peace mind. If you don't plan this and keep answering all in order they come then at the last one hour you will have HIGH presure of time and lot of questions to answer. You can't answer all - so you loose many easy questions. So keep yourself how to plan this just by practicing yourself.

10. Last but not leaset try googling for PMI exam feedback, member groups this will give the moral support by knowing the others feed back.
